Andrew Lee Creech creates a contemporary coming of age story featuring young Telly, a seventeen year old on the brink of manhood, who faces the lure of drugs, the desire for fame and the pain of family history. With spoken word poetry interspersed throughout the play, Hip-Hop Saved My Life asks who we are, where we come from, and what the future might hold when moments of hope are few and far between.
